Vigrahpal III
An eleventh-century reign between the restoration of Mahipal I and the crisis of Varendra.
Vigrahpal III succeeded Nayapal. His age saw renewed pressure from powerful neighbours and a political order in which marriage diplomacy could accompany warfare.
Some later narratives associate his court with a matrimonial settlement involving the Kalachuri line; details rest on evidence of unequal reliability.
He fathered the next generation of princes whose rivalry and succession difficulties culminated in the Varendra crisis.
