Gopal III

A tenth-century ruler whose numbering differs across historical reconstructions.

The Gopal who followed Rajyapal is listed as Gopal III in one influential modern reconstruction; other historians count the names differently.

Accounts of his reign are scanty and suggest that rival regional powers constrained royal authority. The dynasty nevertheless retained a territorial and ceremonial core.

The site's numbering follows one transparent sequence, with alternate numbering acknowledged rather than suppressed.

In the historical record

  • ◆Son of Rajyapal in royal genealogy
  • ◆Variant numbering
  • ◆Regional competition

A note on historical certainty

This is a commemorative account, not a claim of uninterrupted political supremacy or documentary certainty. Royal eulogies, later literature and modern reconstructions are distinguished where possible.
